Printing & Graphics
Printing and Graphics industries have many safety and environmental needs. CCI will provide your company with a complete Hazard Communication Program for all of your inks, cleaning solvents and other chemicals.
Inks and cleaning solvents can release chemicals into the air known as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). According to the EPA, these emissions must be reported. CCI will create Air Emission Reports that can be kept at your facility in the case federal, state or local officials request to see them during their inspections.
One of the most cited violations in the printing and graphics industry last year was for a lack of a proper Control of Hazardous Energy Program. Web offset and other printing presses are complex pieces of machinery. When performing maintenance on these presses, proper lock out/tag out procedures must be in place and properly used. CCI can provide a Lock Out/Tag Out Program for your facility and provide training in safe LO/TO practices. Presses also generate a high level of noise when in use. A Hearing Conservation Program may be necessary to keep your employees safe.
CCI can visit your facility quarterly to perform Onsite Safety Inspections. The reports we generate will inform you of any hazards that need to be addressed should there be a formal OSHA inspection. A Toolbox Safety Training Manual made specifically for the printing and graphics industries would provide your employees with weekly refresher courses on proper safety practices. CCI can also provide you with the proper labeling and signage needed at your facility.
In PA, residual waste reporting is required by state law. CCI will create accurate reports and file them with the appropriate agency. Depending on the chemicals used at your facility and the amounts stored there, Community Right–to–Know Reporting may be necessary. Contact CCI to find out if these regulations apply to you.
